Hwang Active on Bubble; Bursts It

Steve Hwang was not backing down on the bubble even with a few shorter stacks on other tables.

On the fourth hand of hand-for-hand, Hwang opened UTG to 13,000 on 3,000/6,000/6,000.

Hwang was called in the cutoff before Timothy Gilliam raised on the button to 44,000. Hwang took his time before calling and then Sai Pothula in the cutoff folded out.

Hwang and Gilliam saw the paired flop of 7♣5♣5♥ and Hwang checked to Gilliam. Gilliam down-bet to 33,000 which Hwang quickly called.

The turn brought the A♦ which slowed the action down to a check and a check behind.

Action also checked down on the 4♣ river which completed the front door flush. Hwang tabled 8♦8♥ and Gilliam announced "nice hand" as he mucked his cards.

Hwang won that pot of 182,000 and then went on to bust out Andy Wong as the bubble.

Hwang and Wong got all the chips in on the turn when Wong turned top pair with his AK. However, Wong was drawing dead. Hwang had flopped a set and sent Wong out before the money.
