Mixson Bags as Chip Leader; Song and Hapgood Out
With blinds at 4,000/8,000/8,000, Cameron Mixson opened his button to 18,000 and Paul Song went all in from the small blind for 82,000.
Ryan Gersternberg folded his big blind and Mixson finished closing his tab before getting the official count and ultimately calling Song's jam with A♠T♣. Song was at risk with Q♠J♠.
The flop paired Mixson's high card with A♥5♦2♠. Song turned a bit of life with the J♥ but missed the 7♠ river.
Song was the stone bubble for bagging but still takes home $280 today. We are sure we will see Song fire on one of the upcoming flights of The Heatwave.
In an interesting turn of events, on the other table Carolyn Hapgood was also at risk with a gutshot wheel draw against James Galloway's pair and backdoor flush draw.
Hapgood's wheel completed on the turn but it provided an additional spade for Galloway's draw which completed on the river.
Hapgood: A♦2♦
Galloway: Q♠4♠
Board: J♠5♦4♣3♠8♠
Hapgood will collect a min cash on Sunday and is eligible for a multi-bag bonus of $1,000. If any player finds a second bag before Sunday they can win an additional $1,000. Flight B of The Heatwave is already underway and there are seven more starting flights including three turbo flights. Plenty of ways to earn your way to the Event 2 Title!
Cameron Mixson 496,000
All chip counts will be posted at end of day after the conclusion of all flights.
