Michael Brown opened from the small blind to 35,000 on blinds of 10,000/15,000/15,000. Jose Montes defended his big blind as he did two orbits prior when Montes and Brown clashed in a 365,000 pot. Brown and Montes were set to play another massive pot.

With 85,000 in the pot, the flop came K♣5♦3♠. Brown continued for 35,000 and Montes called.

The 2♦ turn brought fireworks. Brown checked the action over to Montes. Montes had 160,000 behind and put 60,000 of that in the middle. Brown jammed and Montes was already committed so put the rest of it in.

Brown tabled 6♥5♥ and Montes turned over 5♠4♠. Both players shared a pair of fives; Brown had a gutshot and Montes was open-ended. The K♥ river paired the board but Brown's kicker played and Montes was out in 5th for $960. The remaining players advance to Sunday's Day 2 restart.
