Higgins and Beecher Collide (E#11-D2)

Matthew Higgins is one of many accomplished tournament grinders in the $1M GTD PokerAtlas Tour Title Event. The Title Event drew 1,488 entries generating a prize pool of $1,456,000!

Higgins has multiple WSOP circuit rings and over $2.4 million in live tournament earnings. A win in Event #11 would beat out his largest live cash recorded at $222,091. He still has to get through 61 players including Nicholas Beecher.

On blinds of 15,000/25,000/25,000, Beecher opened to 50,000 from UTG. Higgins called in the hijack and the big blind defended as well.

The flop was low and paired with 7♥2♠2♦. Action checked through.

The T♦ turn brought a check from the big blind and Beecher led out for 120,000. Higgins didn't take long to announce a raise as he put out 300,000. The big blind folded out and Beecher thought things over before putting in the call.

There was now 790,000 in the middle heading into the A♥ river. Beecher had 1,125,000 behind as the effective stack. He checked. Higgins continued for 400,000 and Beecher went into the tank.

A few minutes later, Beecher made the fold and the table was breaking. Beecher was obviously questioning his fold and Higgins disclosed he had flopped sevens full. Beecher said he had kings with the king of diamonds.

62 dreams remain in the field.

Higgins: 2,265,000 (+440,000)
Beecher: 1,125,000 (-350,000)
