Schubert Bags Overall Chip Lead (1G)

Hand-for-hand in Flight G felt like it was going hour-for-hour. Short stacks were doubling and then a massive hand broke out between Taylor Schubert and Charles Sims.

Preflop and flop action seemed normal between Schubert and Sims. They both had larger stacks and didn't have much incentive to play big pots with each during the bubble.

Sims was in the big blind and Schubert was in the hijack. The flop was J♠8♣6♥ and action checked through on the 7♣ turn. The 2♥ river couldn't have changed anything. Sims led out for 75,000. Schubert jammed for 286,000. Sims went into the tank.

After a few minutes, Sims made the call and Schubert tabled T♥9♥ for a turned straight. Sims had turned two-pair with 8♠7♠.

Both Sims and Schubert would survive the money bubble and bag by the end of the night. Schubert bagged the chip lead for his flight and the current chip lead of the entire tournament.
