On a heads-up turn of 3♠10♥A♥, Robert French checked to Derek Normand how bet 40,000, but then French check-raised him to 100,000. After some pause, Normand looked at his stack of roughly 200,000 and made the call to see the 3♦ fall on the river.

French thought for a few seconds before he moved all in, only to be quickly called by Normand.

"You're good," French sighed and mucked his hand after Normand tabled A♣10♣ for top two pair.

"Yeah, I was trying to figure out how I could be beat on that hand," Normand admitted as he raked in the sizeable pot.

The very next hand, French moved all in with pocket threes and was called by big stack Schuyler Thornton with ace-seven to put him at risk.

Unfortunately for French, a seven appeared on the turn to win Thornton the pot and he was sent to the payout desk in 11th place.

Normand - 570,000
Thornton - 1,015,000
