Extraordinary Circumstances lead to Sunwoo Double
"We're heads-up? Ok, I've got the same hand as last time," Justin Wright admits to James Sunwoo as they go heads-up to a flop of 5♣2♣3♠. The players then call for a floor to give him a penalty as Wright has committed several infractions previously, but before the floor makes it over, Sunwoo checks, Wright tosses out 3 pink and 4 white chips for a bet of 400,000, and then Sunwoo check-raised all in.
Wright then grabbed the four white chips and pulled them back and tossed out another pink, which in his mind was 'making change', but after a lengthy discussion, this was ruled as a call by the floor.
The hands were then tabled, Sunwoo with A♣7♣ and at-risk against the T♦7♦ of Wright. The runout of 3♦6♦ changed nothing and awarded Sunwoo the pot with his ace-high for a strange double. Meanwhile, on top of losing the pot, Wright was then issued a one-round penalty for talking about the strength of his hand.
Sunwoo - 5,100,000
Wright - 3,050,000
