Opener: Burnett's Set Secures Massive Pot!

In a single-raised pot, four payers saw a flop of 2♦J♠8♦, which is where the fireworks began. 

 

Christopher Short led out for 225,000 but then Laguerenne Gonzalez moved all in, followed by both Patrick Chan and Nicholas Burnett. When the action got back to Short, he made the call to put all three players at risk and the hands were tabled.

Burnett was a huge favorite with his set of deuces, but the turn 6♦ had to make it a sweat as Gonzalez picked up a flush draw.

 

Fortunately for Burnett, the river was the 6♠ to improve him to a full house and he was shipped the massive pot while Gonzalez and Chan hit the rail. 

 

Even after losing this monster pot, Short is still the chip leader.
