Deepstack: Ma Plays Face-Up; Dora Coyle Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,140)
This bloodbath started when Muthu Veerappan opened to 140,000 and was called by Long Ma, but then Dora Coyle moved all in for her last 490,000.
The action was then on Mauricio Miranda who four-bet to 1,200,000, producing a fold from Veerappan. After some thought, Ma set out a stack to signify a call and flipped over his hand of Q♣Q♠... not realizing he still had chips behind. The floor rules that the hand must now be played face-up and the players go to a flop of 5♣4♠8♣.
Ma then moved all in for his remaining 240,000 and Miranda quickly called to put him at risk, tabling A♣K♦ while Coyle showed A♠J♣.
Ma was still ahead with his two queens, but it is always a sweat as the turn 3♣ brought in the flush draw for Miranda.
Fortunately for Ma, the river was the brick 10♠ and he was shipped the pot for more than a double while Coyle hit the rail in 7th place.
