High Level Play at Table 18
On a multi-way flop of 6♣9♦4♣, the action checked around to Mahesh Rathi who bet 7,000 into 32,000. Then Christoph Csik check-raised to 20,000 and the action folded back to Rathi who made the call.
On the turn 9♠, Csik moved all in for 45,000 and Rathi paused to think.
"Alright, if you got it, you got it, here you go," he said as he set out a stack to put Csik at risk and the cards were on their backs.
Csik tabled A♣9♥8♣8♥ for nines and fours with nut flush draw but Rathi somehow had him beat with Q♣9♣6♠5♥ for a better two pair of nines and sixes. Csik would need an ace, eight, or club to stay alive, but the river was the brick J♥ to send him to the rail while Rathi padded his chip lead.
"Wow, that was some gangster sh*t," Daniel Marin commented as he admitted he folded pocket aces on the flop, which would have won the big hand.
Rathi - 465,000
