Table 22 Getting It In
Players on Table 22 in Day Two of the Season Finale Opener are not shy about getting the chips in the middle.
On blinds of 10,000/20,000/20,000, Joe Firova opened to 50,000 from the hijack. Jeremy Bowman moved all-in from the cutoff and Firova quickly called. Bowman was at risk and dominated.
Firova: A♦K♣
Bowman: K♦Q♣ (all-in)
Board: J♥8♦8♣4♥K♥
Bowman was drawing at a queen that never came; he was eliminated in 35th place for $930.
In the very next hand, Thomas Brabham opened to 40,000 from the lojack. John Skrovan moved all-in for 400,000 from the small blind. John Jacob was in the big blind and cold-called. Brabham folded.
Jacob: K♠K♥
Skrovan: A♥8♦
Board: A♠7♦6♥A♦T♦
Skrovan didn't have to sweat for long. There was an ace in the window and then Skrovan found trips on the turn. Skrovan secured a nice double.
